Coping Monday Blues

How many of you ever felt the anxiety/fear of Mondays that you are not even able to enjoy your weekends? How many times have you started your Mondays just to reach the end of the day? If you ever felt this or have these weekend patterns, it is the right place for you

First of all, I want everyone to know that it is very normal to feel this way, and always remember every journey starts with fear. And also, it is a legit phobia known as deuterophobia or Lunaediesophobia. It is described as an "abnormal fear or extreme dislike of Mondays”. Mostly everyone feels it so it is more than usual. It is something which nobody addresses but is an important aspect of living. Because in the first place, we all need to understand and engrave it in our heart that we all have to live in our today, and not to let the future ruin our present. It’s okay to have a far-sighted approach but being afraid of is not an interesting or healthy method.

But the question stands why does this happen?

It happens when someone is in these situations:

1. Strong disliking toward their current work – Sometimes, one hates his job so much that he does it forsake, which led him to the path of Monday blues.

2. Not able to enjoy the weekend- When somebody is not able to enjoy their weekend to their fullest, it makes them urge more time for Sundays

3. Over-analysis of future – When somebody overthinks about their weekdays, they feel pressure and hope for the weekend not to get over.

4. Unprepared for future events- Being irresponsible towards their work automatically leads to fear for their work. In such scenarios, one becomes discouraged to start their weekdays.

Now, these dilemmas arise, how one can tackle such demotivating situations, I believe one can follow these remedies:

1. Be prepared – We can try to complete all our pending work/projects beforehand so that we don’t have anything to stress about.

2. Be confident- One should always be confident, to face any kind of situation, he should always know if not anyone he has his own back and that is the most important thing.

3. Go with the flow- But if you have no willpower, just remember you can’t stop time so just move ahead no matter you crawl, walk, or run, move with time and enjoy the process.

4. Adore your moments – The most and foremost thing one can do, which is even a pie of every problem is, try to make yourself comfortable in these tacky situations, which you can do by doing something you like.

A.) Watching shows – In this era, who doesn’t like watching shows. Everyone has found or been exploring different kinds of genres through this, which provides them a way to enhance their thoughts.

B.) Working out/ Sporty activities – If you are someone who is into sports and feels very enthusiastic about it then it is a very befitted option for you. Due to some physical exercises, one can automatically feel the blood rushing in their body, which provides more energy to our brain to think more clearly.

C.) Talk to your friends/ family members – Try to talk out your thoughts with your friends/ family members with whom you feel safe and secure. They will make you realize that you are stronger than you think and in reality, Monday blues are nothing for you it’s just a feeling that is very normal.

D.) Journaling/ penning down thoughts – If you feel that no one has that patience or time to listen to you, so don’t worry, who is the best option except yourself. Make yourself realize that you are your best listener, problem solver, and idol. Drive out your thoughts through your writing, it is the best medium to express yourself.

E.) Planning out new stuff – Another way of overcoming this feeling is planning out new stuff for your upcoming week with thrilling and adventurous activities about which you feel very lively and energetic. It will keep you motivated and encouraged for the whole week and keep your energy high.

F.) Vibe with your preferred music - Last but not least, is music which I know has already become your companion during the lockdown. And I am delighted to tell you that it is scientifically proven, that music truly helps you and your soul to heal faster. So, guys listen to your preferred music and solve your Monday blues in melodious ways.

Now Honestly speaking, this is a feeling, which can’t be ended, but can be reduced by just calming down and making yourself realize that you can get through all Mondays with a belief of one day at a time.
