Vikrant is an engineering graduate who wants to fulfill his small dream with his college sweetheart Shikha. But destiny had other plans for him, as he encounters Purva, the daughter of the local-ruthless politician Akheraj Awasthi Vidrohi. Purva has spent most of her youth obsessing over Vikrant and now would not stop at any length to make him her trophy.
The series is a fast-paced and well-written crime thriller. It is a balance of dark humour with action-thriller sequences. It is along the lines of the famous quote by William Shakespeare in his play Othello: "For she had eyes and chose me." It showcases how three things, Money, Power, and Woman, can be destructive in a man's life.
The Vikrant's best friend, Golden (played by Anant Joshi), and Vikrant's Father (played by Brijendra Kala) provide us with the much-needed comic relief in between all the twists and turns of the series. The witty and sharp dialogues written by Varun Badola should be appreciated for the same.
Most of the actors have done justice to their roles. Tahir Raj Bhasin plays the victim Vikrant, making us sympathize with him on many occasions as he is trapped without any escape insight. Anchal Singh plays the role of the intimidating seductress Purva, who won't take 'no' for an answer. Shweta Tripathi pulls off the character of a vulnerable yet strong girl, Shikha, who has no direct connection to all this but still bears the brunt. Saurabh Shukla portrays the role of a ruthless politician, Akheraj, who will try every trick in the black book to keep his daughter happy.
The series does have some loopholes and, it grasps at straws towards the end to give it a significant twist and leave it at a cliff-hanger so that people continue to the second season.
But I believe that the series is a must-watch if you like the world of thrillers, dark comedy, henchmen killing at the whim of their masters, obsessed lover, gangster-politician, and binge-watching. The story will keep you hooked till the end to know how the lives of different characters turn out.
